Jolleen Dick is an active community leader and traditional beaded jewelry maker. Jolleen’s Nuu-chah-nulth name is suuwayaqawilth which means “somebody that holds something precious for safe keeping”. Jolleen needed a dynamic brand that she could utilize for both her political life and her traditional jewelry.

Jolleen and I went through various iterations and concepts before landing on the thunderbird from an image of one of her grandmothers beaded designs. The image is personally and culturally significant to Jolleen and her values and goals.
